While many homeschooled families opt for more common foreign languages like Spanish and French, you may have a child or teen who is interested in learning Japanese.
Fortunately, there are websites available with resources that can either support a purchased Japanese language program or can be used to teach your child Japanese.
First, be aware that learning Japanese involves getting to know the characters that are used for their written language. These characters are categorized into three different sets: Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. Some of the sites below have flashcards and tutorials for learning this aspect of the Japanese language.
Vocabulary lists, grammar, and dictionaries are also available on many of these sites. Most will give your child a good foundation in Japanese at a beginner’s level.
