SMC: A single pages of basic spelling rules by Santa Monica College.
CommNet: This site offers tips about spelling and includes a chart which shows the American vs. British spellings of some words.
Oxford Dictionaries: An extensive source of rules for spelling. Covers both British and American rules.
Logic of English: This site has 30 English spelling rules listed.
English Club: This page lists just a few rules, but it has a link to a very funny poem about the hazards of relying on your spell checker. It’s called Spell Checker Dangers.
Just Mommies: A page of rules for spelling with a printable version available.
Scholastic Spelling Rules Chart: A free printable spelling rules chart on the Scholastic website.
