If you’re going to teach art appreciation and/or art history to your kids this year, you might want to check out the YouTube channels I found recently. They have short videos that will help your children learn about famous artists and their works of art in child-friendly ways.
Some of these videos are in cartoon format while others show pictures and include a detailed narrative. One set of videos also has detailed instructions for art projects your kids can do that go with the artist they learned about.
All of these videos are handy tools for teaching your children art appreciation and art history.
YouTube Channels that Teach Art Appreciation and Art History
Free School – Free School has this Famous Artists for Kids playlist that has short, informative videos about artists.
Art with Mati & Dada – Mati is a girl who is magically transported into the lives of great artists by her friend, Dada, in a fun cartoon series.
Kirsten Brunner – Kristen has videos that begin by teaching children about a famous artist and conclude with detailed instructions on how to do a related art project.
I hope these YouTube channels help you teach art appreciation and art history to your kids. If you know of others who could benefit from these videos, feel free to share this post with them.
