Knowing if a number is prime or composite can help your child or teen solve problems with fractions. For that reason, I thought I’d find you some online prime number calculators that you can use to help your learner when he is struggling with a problem. These are also handy for finding out if a large number is prime when solving advanced math problems.
The sites below have a wide variety of calculators. Most tell you if a number is prime or not. Some also list factors or give the closest prime number. One is for very advanced math.

Online Prime Number Calculators
Math Is Fun: This page explains prime and composite numbers and has a prime numbers chart and calculator.
Math.com: This site has a simple calculator to determine if a number is prime.
Calculator Soup: Find out if a number is prime or composite and what its factors are on this site.
Archimedes Lab: This site gets bonus points for the design of its calculator. It lets you know if a number is prime. If it isn’t, it tells you the factors and the next closest prime number.
Number Empire: This site has a generator and calculator that tells you if a number is prime and also gives you the option to find out the next closest prime or previous prime.
Utm.edu: For those of you who want to get really fancy, this site has calculators for the nth prime, pi function, and a random prime number.
