Reader’s Theater is an enjoyable way for children to improve their speaking skills, reading fluency, listening skills, and reading comprehension. It’s slightly less stressful than performing a regular play because memorization isn’t required and props are kept to a minimum. It also encourages children to work cooperatively and listen to each other carefully.
I found some companies for you recently that have books with scripts for two or more performers. They can be used in your family or a homeschool co-op. They’re perfect for special events or just reading practice.
However you want to use these plays, I think you’ll find that they make reading enjoyable for your kids.
